Health and Entrepreneurship: How 10 Minutes of Daily Meditation Can Change the Game

In early 2014, I started my second agency because I felt it was time to move on from the captive agency model that I had been in for the last 10 years. Starting an independent agency from scratch (absolute zero) was a new challenge for me, and anyone who has attempted this will agree that it’s one of the most stressful things you can do professionally. Every day, you have to figure out how to keep the lights on and the family fed, which can cause great stress. While stress can provide the drive to work hard in a sink-or-swim environment, it can also have a devastating effect on your health and well-being.

During my first year, where there seemed to be a weekly punch to the gut in one way or another, I found myself mentally struggling to keep pace. Seeking out stress-relieving solutions, I was already exercising daily to keep myself physically healthy but needed something to organize my mind throughout the madness. This is where I found meditation. Ten minutes of meditation every morning gave me the clarity to take on each day, and I credit a lot of my mental toughness and durability to this morning habit.

Meditation is more than just a relaxation technique. It’s a powerful tool that can have a significant impact on a person’s life, including their business. Entrepreneurs face a lot of stress and pressure, and meditation can help them navigate these challenges with greater ease and clarity.
